Most of the antelopes are pregnant and due to calf early November just after the first rains.

Animals are seen daily drinking water at the waterhole at the front of the lodge.
Adriaan and Xnimpsy tracked and found two leopard cubs. This had their Canadian guests ecstatic! The Leopard cubs are very inquisitive, extremely cautious and shy. They moved closer to the vehicle with their snouts in the air smelling and trying to understand what these unknown creatures were doing so close to where their mother left them while she went hunting!

Did you know?
The duration of a leopards pregnancy longs about 3 months. The female leopard gives birth to 1 to 3 cubs. Their eyes will open after 10 days. The cubs learn from their mother how to climb, to hunt and how to protect themselves from other predators. The female takes care of her cubs until they are one and half years old, after that they are on their own. The male leopard looses interest in the female after mating and will only return to her when she is in oestrus again. (good family values?). The skin of a leopard is unique. Every individual has different colouring. The form, size and order of the spots are unique for every individual.

About Botswana :
September Month is Kalahari Spring Festival in Gaborone
Botswana gains Independence Day from Britain, 30 September 1966.
In June 1964, Britain accepted proposals for democratic self-government in Botswana. The seat of government was moved from Mafikeng, in South Africa, to newly established Gaborone in 1965. The 1965 constitution led to the first general elections and to independence in September 1966. Seretse Khama, a leader in the independence movement and the legitimate claimant to traditional rule of the Bamangwato, was elected as the first president, re-elected twice, and died in office in 1980. October is election time in Botswana.
